Muvo introduced to Bridge City

March 2013

Muvo Cards offer a cashless ticketing system for bus trips in Durban. Over 18 000 cards have already been sold and due to the ever increasing support for the Muvo Cards, Muvo has expanded to Bridge City just north of the Durban CBD.

On 9 March 2013 Muvo held the official launch of Muvo Cards in Bridge City. The public’s response was phenomenal and the build up of excitement attracted masses of passersby. Radio DJs King Sfiso and Mzo Phakathwayo from Gagasi FM were the highlights of the event and led the day’s entertainment.

While the DJs kept the crowd entertained, the ETA staff mingled with the public and helped to resolve any concerns or queries they had about the Muvo Card system. The staff also guided those interested in a card through the registration process at one of the on-site Muvo SmartVans. The Muvo SmartVans were constantly busy with new Muvo cardholders and current cardholders who took the opportunity to top-up.

The head of the ETA, Thami Manyathi, addressed the crowd with high hopes and aspirations for the future of the Durban Transit system. The crowd’s enthusiasm was exceptional and thanks to Muvo and Standard Bank everyone received lanyards, caps and water bottles.
